Celebrate National Get Outdoors Day with a day packed full of exciting adventures! 9 a.m. Early Morning Paddle:Join an interpreter for a canoe tour of the lake at its most scenic and learn a little history of how the lake began. Pre-registration required. or /person for groups of 4 or more. Must be at least six years old. Meet at the Dock-N-Shop. 11 a.m. Salamander Meander: Find out what makes these amphibians so unique, especially here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Then, join an interpreter as you go on an adventure to find salamanders! Meet at Parking Lot 3. Free 1 p.m. Survival 101: Join Master Naturalist Katie Cordle at the beach as she shows a few simple survival tips that you can take along with you on your next adventure. You'll have the chance to get a hands-on experience to put your survival skills to the test. FREE 3 p.m. Survival Bracelets: Have you ever wondered why they're called 'survival bracelets'?
