SEWING 101: 9am-11am – for adults and children ages 8+Learn the basics of using a sewing machine in this introductory class, including how to wind the bobbin, thread the machine, and perform general maintenance while making a fabric headband and/or a small decorative pillow. Learn the basics of machine sewing in two hours…even if you’ve never threaded a needle before! This workshop is designed to give you the confidence to attack any cute Pinterest sewing project that comes your way using tried and true sewing techniques for the modern sewer. This class builds a solid foundation of sewing knowledge leading to a future of sewing success! You may sign up monthly and build on your skills.  Includes fabric and supplies to complete projects.  Ages 8 to adult (perfect activity for mother/daughter). per person, or … for 2 signing up together under "Double the Fun'! All materials are included. We pride ourselves on a low-pressure, casual, and creative atmosphere, making this the perfect opportunity to jump into sewing for just about anyone. We recommend bringing your own working machine if you have one – it's always better to learn on the machine you will be using at home. If you do not own a machine, you can reserve one of ours by calling or emailing the shop. **Class attendees receive a 15% discount on day-of-class purchases!  As with all our classes, you may register online through Eventbrite, or in person in our shop. If you prefer to pay the class fee on the day of class, you must call the shop to reserve your space 504-302-9434.  We (or the instructors) set minimums on most of our classes. If for some reason a class does not “make”, you will be notified and will receive a full refund. For project-based workshops and classes, you will begin your project in class; however, depending upon your skill level and speed, you may or may not be able to complete your projects in the class time frame. You are always invited back to complete your project by calling the shop and scheduling a time. Please read our class policies here.
